Storytelling is powerful—it shapes how the world sees critical events. That’s why it’s incredibly frustrating to see a film like “Russians at War”—which received $340,000 from Canadian taxpayer money—being showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). This movie tries to portray Russian soldiers as victims, overlooking the true horrors and war crimes happening in Ukraine.
As Ukraine continues to endure bombings, loss of lives, and massive destruction, why is Canada funding a film that distorts the truth? We should be amplifying the stories of those on the frontlines—those who are fighting for their freedom and defending democracy. Instead, funding is being given to projects that excuse Russian aggression.
That’s where our movie comes in.
Our Movie Tells the Real Story of Ukraine’s Fight
We’re making a film that shows the true bravery of Ukrainians as they stand against the Russian invasion. Our story will focus on the real heroes—the civilians, soldiers, and volunteers who are risking everything to defend their country.
But we can’t do this alone. We need your support to bring this crucial story to the world. With your help, we can ensure that the truth about Ukraine’s fight for freedom is heard.
Why Your Support Is Crucial
Unlike “Russians at War”, our project doesn’t have the backing of government funds. We’re an independent team, relying on individuals who care about the truth and the future of Ukraine. Every bit of support counts.
Here’s why your contribution is important:
- We’re independent: We don’t have taxpayer money funding us. Every dollar you give goes directly into making and distributing the film.
- Our message is vital: At a time when misinformation about Ukraine is being spread, it’s more important than ever to tell the real story.
- We honor Ukraine’s resilience: Our movie is a tribute to the people who have died defending their country and those who continue to fight.
How You Can Help
Please consider supporting our project through GoFundMe. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us:

- Distribute it to international film festivals and media platforms
- Amplify the voices of Ukrainians fighting for freedom and peace
With your help, we can bring the truth about Ukraine’s fight for survival to audiences worldwide. Thank you for standing with us, and thank you for standing with Ukraine.
